"The Cup of Life"

After her husband died, housewife Nekane lives devoted to her father in law and son; she is the queen of the beehive. One day, while she cleans all the trophies and cups her deceased husband won during all his life, she breaks one of the cups by mistake. This causes a huge gap in the display cabinet. When she tells about the incident to the rest of the family, the three members engage in an adventure to win a new cup.

Enara Goikoetxea

Biography: She studied Film and Video at The Surrey Institute of Art and Design (Surrey, UK).

Filmography: She currently works for moztu filmak and is equally devoted to editing and directing work. Enara is directing her first creative feature documentary “Counting time, the walls of Muttogorri”, a very intimate and personal work about family heritage. Together with Iurre Telleria, she is directing the feature documentary “The Last Passage”, a Spanish-Belgium-French co-production set during WWII. Last year, she finished directing the documentary “Clara’s Call” produced by REC sound studios. She worked as assistant editor in Julio Medem’s documentary film “La Pelota Vasca”. Previously, she has worked for the Basque television, ETB, editing many different documentary and documentary series. Enara has also vast experience editing fiction feature films: she worked in the rough editing of Tom Kalin’s “Savage Grace”, to continue as head editor in two Basque language feature films, “Kutxidazu bidea, Ixabel” (best film award at the II European Festival of Minority Languages) and “Eutsi!” debut film of director Alberto Gorritiberea. Enara also keeps working as director and editor in publicity campaigns for television, both for private and public entities, as well as music videos for Basque and Spanish bands.

"One step"

Yusif has lost his eyesight in Karabach war. Yusif’s wife – Nisa just wants to find money for her husband’s operation and nothing else regarding Yusif interests her. Yusif is bored of such life and decides to commit suicide. A girl-angel appears at necessary time and prevents him from dieing. She introduces herself as his BLINDNESS, unlike Nisa, shows concern for him and proves him that even for a blind man the life shouldn’t lose its loveliness. Yusif returns to life and unexpectedly Nisa finds money for the operation. Yusif already doesn’t want to be operated, doesn’t want to lose his Blindness… But maybe, the blindness is Nisa’s feminity which she has lost and which will return to her after the recovery of her husband’s sight.

Melanie Beisswenger

Biography: Melanie Beisswenger is a German director, animator and animation teacher. She has worked on a wide range of projects from 3D character animation on international feature films and TV commercials to TV show animation supervision. Her animation credits include the Academy Award winning feature film ‘Happy Feet’, the stereoscopic 3D animated feature ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ and the TV launch commercial for the blockbuster game ‘BioShock’.

"Hexaemeron"

Hexameron is a short animation film that was created by four students, who were joined by common passion. Using innovative 3D technology and custom tools "Hexaemeron” was brought to life. This film was realized through synthesis of points in three dimentional space creating a new visual style. Inspiration came from the first pages of the bible which describe the creation of the world in six days. The film was animated to music by the band Mindthings performing the instrumental melody "Rebirth" from the album "Life’s Path”.

Biography: In 2008 I graduated College of Computer Science in Lodz (Poland). My final project was a sci-fi animated short film "Bazyliszek" which I also placed on internet forum max3d.pl. I was also an intern at a post-production studio "Lightcraft" in Warsaw. During my internship I gained experience in visual effects on feature film "Bubble Trubble" directed by Sonia Arrubla. Currently I'm a student at Drimagine - School of 3D Animation and VFX based in WSB-National Louis University, Nowy Sacz.

Biography: Andrea Lodovichetti was born in Fano (Italy) in 1976. Maja Djokic

Biography: Maja Djokic was born in Belgrade but she grew up in Seville. Her dream was to become a mathematician, but after renting a flat just above a cinema theatre, she changed her mind. She moved to Barcelona and graduated at School for Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia (ESCAC) at 2001. Besides studying in Barcelona, Maja has participated in exchange programs at Cinema and TV School of San Antonio de los Banos, Cuba, and Film and Media School at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore. She combines her work as music videos and short films director with studying a PhD in Advertising and Public Relations.

Filmography: Maja Djokic has directed a number of music videos, some awarded at Spanish festivals. At 2006 she directs “In the woods”, a short film with 12 Spanish and international prizes and selected at over 50 festivals. In the same year she is selected to participate at Berlinale Talent Campus. At 2008 she finishes the documentary “People’s Gods”, focused on interreligious relations and problems in Singapore. “360º” is her last short film.

Biography: Maurice Micallef, director of The Phoenicians, has an impressive track record in film-making, which goes back to 1964 when he produced his first documentary ‘A Glance at Valletta’-a twelve minute insight of the capital city. In 1972, with the help of the Italian government, Maurice was sent to RAI studios in Rome where he gained technical know how and experience which were to become an asset in his film-making career.

Can an angel fulfill prayers? A small silent movie between drama and comedy with thinking-bubbles and piano music; inspired by a dream.
